Carr is thrilled to have three projects shortlisted for the 2025 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) – a program celebrating the best of Australian interior and product design.

IDEA is Australia’s largest independent design awards program. Launched in 2003, the program celebrates the best of Australian interior and product design across 21 categories.

Como Terraces, nominated in the Residential Multi category, is a complex series of eight buildings that work with the landscape, meandering and nestling into the steep topography that falls 26 metres. The overall architectural outcome of Como Terraces is a collection of three-storey built forms that traverse the topography with slight shifts and rotations to maximise expansive views, space, and natural light to all apartments.

Shortlisted in the Workplace Over 1000 sqm category, Russell Kennedy is spread across four floors, with a design that reinforces and supports the law firm’s authentic and inclusive positioning in the market. The textural and warm interiors represent the law firm’s values.

Lastly, making its debut, the Enduring Award shortlist features Courtyard House. Modern yet free of overt references, the design embraces shadow and light, with a simplicity of form and function reminiscent of 1960s houses, creating a compelling rhythm of contrasts.

Winners are selected by a jury of leading design professionals and will be announced at the IDEA Gala in November.
