As usual, we love sharing what our talented Carr team has planned for the Christmas break. Whether it’s spending summery days in the garden or beach, reuniting with loved ones, skiing abroad or cuddling our fur babies, we’re looking forward to a season filled with good company and restorative downtime.

These holidays I’ll be making the annual trip to Bendigo to spend some much-needed downtime with friends and family. I have two goals: to do as little as possible and to take lots of naps. I might do some reading if I find the time in my busy schedule, but my hopes aren’t high.

I’ll be grabbing the dog and road tripping with my partner to South Australia, where we’ll dive with weedy sea dragons in Rapid Bay before taking the ferry across to Kangaroo Island. We’ll try to hit some wineries in the Barossa before coming back to Melbourne to celebrate New Year’s Eve with some friends.

Lucy Cuthbertson, Practice Manager

I’ll be spending time in the garden, day trips to the beach, BBQs and family time, enjoying the quiet moments between busy years!

My husband and I are going skiing in Japan, spending five days in Hakuba, then hoping to stay in a Ryokan for a few nights. Looking forward also to spending New Year’s in Tokyo.

This Christmas and New Year, I’ll be enjoying time at home in New Zealand, with family visiting from China, making it extra special. I’m hoping to get outdoors as much as possible, hiking with my mum, catching some waves, and finally ticking off that kiwi summer road trip I’ve been dreaming about!

We will be spending the Christmas break in Melbourne with our families. Later in January, we will be house sitting in Mullumbimby and will hopefully have some beach time.

Nick Carr, CEO

I will be travelling to Northern NSW for a beach holiday. I hope it is filled with hot days, warm evenings, learning to surf (properly), walking everywhere, and going on little adventures with my young family. Next year is set to be even bigger than 2025, so recharging now will be key to hitting January running.

This break will be filled with loved ones, salty water and sun. I will be heading west to Whadjuk Nyoonga country to bring in the new year, and then Wadani Boodja country for a friend’s wedding. Looking forward to making space for screen-free explorations and conjuring up some tasty snacks from Angela Dimayuga’s Filipinx.

Belinda Roberts, Head of Marketing and Engagement

I’m looking forward to staying home this year. Having moved into a new house a few months ago, we plan to tackle some home renovations and maybe take a few day trips to dog-friendly wineries with our fur babies. With family visiting from England for the Ashes, we’re also excited to head to the Boxing Day Test.

Megan Choo, Interior Designer

Over the break, I’ll have family visiting from Singapore, so it will be a jam-packed two weeks filled with a mix of my favourite spots and some iconic Melbourne sites, including the Melbourne Museum and Collingwood Farm. I’ll also be down at the beach as often as I can, catching some warm rays and enjoying swims in the sea.

This year, we look forward to winding down and spending quality family time and loved ones coming home from New Zealand. We hope to celebrate summer at its best, with trips to the beach, and some cold beverages in the afternoons to keep cool.
