Last year was marked by significant milestones, with several of our largest and most complex projects reaching completion and debuting to the market.

In 2026, the focus turns to design excellence in progress, as a number of national projects advance through construction. Each contributes to the ongoing evolution of Australian architecture and interior design. While not an exhaustive list, the projects featured reflect our discipline’s capabilities and appreciation for a project’s milieu.

The Windermere by Carr.

The Windermere, Ascot

Crafted in close collaboration between Silverstone Developments and Carr, The Windermere is an exclusive offering of 36 elevated residences, defined by rigorous attention to detail, located in Ascot, Brisbane.

As with all our designs, we begin with the fundamentals of place strategy, how you arrive at your address, move through the lobbies and up to the home. This approach shaped the design of the dual lobbies, enabling smaller vertical communities rather than one large connecting corridor. Responsible for both architecture and interior design services, our design seeks to mirror the sense of neighbourhood and community found in Ascot, but make it vertical.

Anticipated completion: Mid-to-late 2026

Ocean Place, Burleigh Heads

Spanning 19 storeys, including a ground-floor Beach House, Ocean Place presents a cohesive and singular design expression, foregrounding orientation, form and palette, while also offering a distinctive point of difference in the Burleigh Heads market.

The brief from Pask was to create a timeless luxury multi-residential development that respected the local setting and capitalised on its prime beachfront location through architecture, interiors and landscaping that complement the subtropical environment.

Anticipated completion: Early 2027

Melbourne Innovation Space

Designed to complement the client’s existing office, the space creates a distinct environment for learning, teaching, and events, acting as a counterpoint to the traditional office with a completely different look and feel. It encourages staff and visitors to be open, think creatively, and embrace possibility. An experiential tunnel facilitates this transition, telling the client’s story and inspiring new ways of thinking.

Inside, the environment is fully reconfigurable, with operable walls that adapt for impromptu group sessions, large workshops, or seminars for over 100 participants. A dedicated training zone with fixed rooms and generous breakout areas supports collaboration, while quieter spaces, including a library, cater to focus and neurodiversity. ESD principles underpin the design, featuring exposed ceilings with sustainable acoustic spray and low-impact materials throughout.

Anticipated completion: Mid 2026

The ground-floor Beach House at Ocean Place.
Foley Park by Carr.

Foley Park, Kew

Set within the leafy heart of Kew, this boutique collection of six residences developed by RDG thoughtfully responds to its immediate environment, both built and natural.

Taking cues from the distinctive character of O’Shaughnessy Street and the landscape of nearby Foley Reserve, the design is underpinned by a quiet confidence, presenting a singular, recessive form that feels entirely at home in its setting.

Internally, the interiors extend this sense of restraint and refinement. Materiality and texture are central to the design language; warm timber underfoot, soft finishes and natural stone surfaces provide a tactile, grounded experience. Every surface has been chosen not only for how it looks, but for how it feels.

Anticipated completion: Early 2027

Grandview, Prahran

Developed by Abadeen and sitting on a large corner site in Melbourne’s Prahran, Grandview is a multi-residential project with a design that creates a striking architectural duality, while being anchored by a heritage-listed tree.

Across the architecture and interiors, a refined material palette of hand-finished, rendered bagged brick in a neutral shade is bordered by dark metalwork, resembling traditional zinc and lead cladding.

Anticipated completion: Mid 2027

50 First Avenue, Maroochydore

Carr was engaged by long-standing collaborator Walker Corporation to elevate the arrival and tenant experience for Maroochydore’s first premium commercial tower, a gateway project signalling the area’s emerging city centre. Originally commissioned to redesign the lobby and rooftop, Carr’s scope evolved to encompass the redesign of end-of-trip facilities, on-floor amenities and lift cars, including a monumental lighting installation that defines the arrival experience.

A restrained palette of travertine, micro-cement, timber tones and champagne metal finishes delivers a high-quality outcome aligned with Walker’s discerning standards, while supporting the building’s sustainability targets and setting a new benchmark for workplace design in the local market.

Anticipated completion: March 2026

Grandview by Carr.
Aurora by Carr.

Aurora, Manly

Born out of the need to future-proof charitable operations, Carr’s rejuvenation of Royal Far West’s amenities and the interior design of the multi-residential project, Aurora, represents shelter in all its forms.

For Aurora’s interiors, Carr has mirrored the architectural façade of off-form concrete, white concrete, and a mix of metal-framed and metal-louvred windows to establish cohesive continuity. Providing texture, stability and flow, mineral paint is used on the walls alongside neutral tiling in the bathrooms to evoke a sense of movement. Meanwhile, off-form concrete columns stand guard throughout. Inspired by the rhythm of the surrounding landscape, natural stone references the sedimentary rock formations of the Manly foreshore.

Anticipated completion: Mid 2026

Heirloom, Kangaroo Point

Marking Molti’s first major development in Brisbane, Heirloom is a standout multi-residential project, featuring emotive and sophisticated interior design by Carr.

Located in the vibrant inner-city suburb of Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, the development occupies a rare site overlooking the Brisbane River, with sweeping views of the city and the iconic Story Bridge.

Anticipated completion: Mid 2027
