Before we turn the page to what’s next in 2026, we’re celebrating the projects that shaped the past year. From major milestones to crafted details, here’s a look back at Carr’s completed work in 2025.
Como Terraces, South Yarra
First kicking off in 2018, Como Terraces represents a major milestone for Carr – not only for its fulfilment of a complex brief but for its architectural ambition.
Overlooking the verdant banks of Birrarung (Yarra River), Como Terraces comprises a series of eight buildings that work with the sloping landscape, which falls 26 metres, and read as a collection of smaller forms rather than one large apartment block.
Developed by Cbus Property and Sterling Global, Como Terraces almost appears as a cluster of monolithic forms forged from the earth.
Dover Street Office, Cremorne
Following several successful collaborations with Kokoda Property, Carr crafted a bespoke and distinctive workplace for Kokoda’s growing Melbourne team as it expands its development portfolio across Australia.
The juxtaposition between soft and hard elements throughout the workplace is one of tactile finesse. The marriage of functionality and style stands as a testament to the power of a purpose-built design strategy that supports and celebrates a client’s vision and brand.
Hardie Grant Workplace, Collingwood
A celebration of storytelling in all its forms, the workplace for Australian media and publishing company Hardie Grant steps back to the fundamentals of human experience while reflecting the evolution of the company’s diverse print and digital legacy.
Working within a rich timber-lined envelope, Carr’s interior design approach was to minimise intervention and amplify the vibrant character of both the client and the building.
Mansard, Kooyong
Mansard reflects a considered design that prioritises craftsmanship and luxurious materials, underscoring the belief that quality lies in the detail.
A contemporary interpretation of the historic mansard roof, Mansard comprises 16 residences that are both sensitive to place and appropriate in scale.
Extensive brickwork, luxurious travertine, and private terraces form the building blocks of this intimate development on Toorak Road, Kooyong.
Brunswick Yard, Brunswick
As Carr’s largest completed residential project to date, Brunswick Yard exemplifies the studio’s depth and versatility in residential design.
Responding to the dynamic backdrop of its namesake suburb, the project honours the area’s past while creating a contemporary place for modern living — a clear expression of Carr’s hallmark design refinement and generosity in planning.
The International, Brighton
The International in Brighton is a collection of apartments and townhouses, setting a new benchmark in luxury residential living. Through a strong connection to the outdoors and refined interior detailing, The International brings a crafted approach that speaks to its extraordinary Bayside setting.
The spatial planning is expansive, evoking the experience of a luxury hotel. With a focus on views and a thoughtful response to the natural rhythms of daily life, the design accommodates every detail with precision and care.
