Following the successful launch of Carr’s Brisbane studio and continued growth across Queensland, Director Richard Beel has permanently relocated to Brisbane to lead the region, supported by the local leadership team.

Richard’s move ensures executive leadership on the ground, further strengthening client relationships and reinforcing collaboration with partners across the state. He is joined by Associates Cara McIntyre and Will Simpson, as Carr expands its integrated architecture and interior design capabilities throughout Southern Queensland.

With significant multi-residential and master planning projects underway, and an impressive roster of clients, Carr is well-positioned to help shape the built environment of this dynamic region in the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic Games.

On the move, Richard shares, “Being permanently based in Brisbane enables me to work more closely with our clients and collaborators across Queensland. It’s an exciting time to contribute to the city’s evolution and ensure Carr’s design values are embedded in each project from the outset.”

From master planning precincts to designing a 26-level tower or crafting premium residential interiors, Carr applies rigorous interrogation of each brief to deliver extraordinary outcomes.

CEO Nick Carr adds, “Richard has been instrumental in establishing our Brisbane studio and building our pipeline across Southern Queensland. Expanding Carr’s national presence has long been a priority, and this region represents the most dynamic growth opportunity. Appointing a permanent director in Queensland is a natural progression that allows us to continue our trajectory. This milestone builds on our recent success and signals an exciting new chapter for Carr and our team.”

As Carr marks over five decades of practice, the Brisbane studio signals the next chapter — anchored by strong partnerships, enduring values, and a commitment to design excellence.
