Marquise Apartments Melbourne
Interior Design and Architectural Concepts 2002
10400sqm
$2500/sqm
Best New Development, City of Port Phillip 6th Annual Design and Development Award, 2003
Finalist, Major Awards Category (Interior Design), Victorian Design Major Awards, 1999
A Sculptor and Architect were engaged to conceive a unique boutique lifestyle development comprising 60 apartments. In order to ensure this new benchmark was achieved we were engaged to develop the entire interior concept with an aim to increase quality yet specify robust cost effective finishes.
Additionally, we participated fully in both structural and services engineering aspects which resulted in both design and functional integrity. Floor levels of bathrooms and kitchens were raised and services were insulated within fixed joinery thereby eliminating the need for slab penetrations and as a consequence assuring purchasers complete acoustic isolation.
The space planning creates open living areas that allow flexibility of furniture layouts and maximisation of uninterrupted panoramic views. The full height perimeter glass is designed with an external shading system of louvres which provide natural light and fresh air, reducing the need for air conditioning.
